About Shari
I’m Sharilee “Shari” Benjamin, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Trauma Professional, and military veteran. I provide therapy for adults navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, and life transitions, with care that is practical, flexible, and grounded in evidence-based approaches.
I provide virtual therapy throughout Georgia, Alabama, and Virginia, as well as in-person therapy in Georgia through the Today Alone Therapy Collective,.
My Christian faith is part of the foundation from which I understand people, healing, and the therapeutic relationship. I believe each person is uniquely created in the image of God and worthy of dignity, compassion, and care. This perspective shapes how I approach therapy while honoring each client's individual experiences, beliefs, values, and goals.
My work integrates EMDR, DBT, CBT, and mind-body practices, allowing therapy to be tailored to where you are and what you need. Whether the focus is reducing anxiety and depression, processing trauma, navigating grief, or building more stable relationships, we work together to create a path forward that feels both manageable and meaningful.
For clients who desire it, faith and spirituality can be thoughtfully incorporated into the therapeutic process. This may include exploring how Christian faith, prayer, Scripture, spiritual practices, meaning, or questions of faith intersect with mental health and healing. Spirituality does not need to be part of therapy if it is not relevant to your goals.
Clients often describe feeling more grounded, clearer in their thinking, and better equipped to navigate daily life. The focus is not only on relief from immediate challenges, but also on developing lasting resilience, stronger boundaries, and a clearer sense of direction.
Therapy is a collaborative process. I bring clinical training, professional experience, and therapeutic guidance, while you bring your lived experience, goals, values, and understanding of your own life. Together, we work toward meaningful and sustainable change.
The name Today Alone reflects a core belief behind my practice: even in moments that feel isolating, you do not have to move through them by yourself. Connection can help ease the weight you are carrying while creating something more steady and sustainable.
Through the Today Alone Therapy Collective, I also provide in-person therapy in Georgia while continuing to offer virtual care across the states I serve.
